Hi, it's me again.
In my last post I said to expect my frequent visit, but one can dream.
Six years later, here I am. In yet another post, another escape.
A lot has happen in these recent six years.
The world was shaken by a deathly pandemic by the end of 2019. Ugly stuff. So many deaths around the world, took us several years to rebound. Its been six years now, but we still talk about it now and then. Life was hard, we couldn't even walk around freely. A lot of businesses stopped operating, people losing job. But somehow, the living survives. We thrives, becoming even more creative in enjoying life. Online businesses boomed, many small business owners took flight. The pandemic was not pretty, but in a pretty twisted way it was fun too.
I went for umrah. (Excuse me, I'll go cry in the corner for a while).
Masya Allah such a blessing. Such an honor. Such a blessing. Dapat jejak tanah haram. Dapat tengok Kaabah depan mata. Dapat tawaf. Dapat masuk Raudhah. Dapat solat depan Kaabah. Ya Allah besarnya nikmat Allah beri. Ya Allah rindu. Rindu. Rindu. Tenang sungguh-sungguh. Rasa macam dunia tak ada masalah langsung. Ya Allah rindu sangat. Rindu sangat-sangat. Nak pergi lagi, ya Allah.
I quit once, and returned to the field because apparently, being a homebody doesn't suit me. It was hard being at home with no projection and no target, and I am not the kind who like looking at the same four walls while working and then blinked and it turns into my living space. I'd rather have them separately. So I took an offer to another department. Still the same company. I love it here (Yeay I'm still here. My bosses should have recommended me for a loyalty award.) Great vibe, cool people. The stress is still there, sometimes I wished I had a life tending to my homegrown garden and cook in a little cozy cottage and sometimes sits by the window when in rains with a blanket over me, cup of hot tea in one hand, an old smelly book in another. Reading while listening to the raindrops go pitter-patter on my roofs. I'd open the window when the rain starts slowing down, and smell those lovely smell of fresh grass after the rain. Manifesting such rich life soon, but I will enjoy this chapter of my life as I cruises by. I didn't wake up hating life anymore. Sometimes its hard, but I woke up each day looking forward to what I can do more than I have the previous day.
I travelled a lot, went overseas a few times. Mostly work, sometimes leisure. Alhamdulillah Allah for this sweet opportunities. One childhood dream came true. Singapore, Thailand, India, China, UK. And more to come after this, insyaAllah. I should buy a world map by now. It is slowly coming true. I am living my dream.
I had planned holidays with my girlfriends. Island trips, road trips, hotel stays, barbecues. Something that look small but big enough to keep me a sane human with abundance of joy and memories. Thank you Allah for these bunch of lovely people you have sent to my side. People who never leaves me when I was at my lowest, who deserves to celebrate with me at my best. People who can be monkeying around while keeping me grounded. A party of freaks that gives my life colors. Oh, how I love them.
I got sent to surgery for the first time of my life. On my own. Was warded for the first time ever too. A minor wisdom teeth removal surgery, but I kid you not I was so scared I wrote a will in my phone (It's funny now, but nobody knows I cried before the surgery because I was too scared if I never opened my eyes again). Of course the medical practitioners assures me everything will be alright, but I will never forget his eyes when he says, "if things go wrong, we have anesthetist in the room." (he said this because I have never gone through surgical procedures before, and I didn't know if I will have any reaction to the anesthetic that will be used on me) I don't know if he lies though, passed out by the count of 18. When I regain my consciousness, I was already wheeled out of the operation theater, surgical wool in between my teeth, eyes blurry and words slurries. Discharged with full conscience and a list of dos and don'ts the next day, driving my swollen cheek back home like a happy squirrel stuffed with nuts.
Oh and we got busier since last year, we have expanded and took over another manufacturing company in the northern side of peninsular Malaysia. A lot of our time was spent travelling, coaching and knowledge sharing to get our systems aligned. It was hectic and draining, but every hardship is a lesson learnt and wonderful experience. It will not end any sooner, but we're bracing for anything coming our ways.
There are still a lot more I want to share, but I'll keep it for another post.
Probably in many more years.
PS: I hadn't come in so long I forgot access to my blog. Shame (T_T) Oh, and maybe I will have to change the blog title and layout. Other blog is using the same name and it got confusing. I couldn't find my blog when I looked it up.
